Yamaha Corporation, the leading music technology company, is thrilled to announce the release of its latest voice bank, “Fuiro,” for VOCALOID(TM)6. The voice bank is now available for purchase and download from the official VOCALOID SHOP, starting May 9. To celebrate its release, the “Fuiro” voicebank will be available at a special introductory price of $45 (without tax) from May 9 until May 31, which is 50% off the regular price of $90 (without tax).
VOCALOID is Yamaha’s singing voice synthesis technology and software that generates vocals for songs using lyrics and melodies as input. VOCALOID6, released in October 2022, features the VOCALOID: AI synthesis engine that uses artificial intelligence to synthesize natural, richly expressive singing voices. VOCALOID technology has revolutionized the music industry and created a new generation of music with countless fans worldwide.
The new “Fuiro” voicebank for VOCALOID6 is developed from the vocals of the grand prize winner of Yamaha’s “Become a VOCALOID voicebank!” vocals audition held in February 2022 via the “nana” music collaboration app, which is operated by nana music, Inc. “philo*1” is the artist who won the competition and whose powerful vocals are authentically reproduced in the voicebank. Her high-tone and dynamic vocal quality suits various musical genres, from rock to pop. The voicebank also supports new VOCALOID6 features, such as VOCALO CHANGER, which uses the creator’s vocal data to replicate their singing style, and Multilingual, which allows lyrics to be sung in a mix of fluent Japanese, English, and Chinese with a single voicebank.
To showcase the “Fuiro” voicebank’s capabilities, Yamaha has released two demo songs on YouTube. The first song, “NEONSIGN,” is written by GUCCHO, and the second song, “Kocchi-Oide,” features lyrics by Futomehososhi and music by GUCCHO.
“Philo” is a female singer known for her vocal covers on social media. Her unique and unorthodox singing style has gained popularity among music enthusiasts, and she also arranges music for the piano, her instrument of choice. Her tweet singing Ado’s “Odo” received 49,000 likes, going viral and surpassing one million views, even though she only had 2,000 Twitter followers then. Her cover of “God-ish” by PinocchioP ranked #20 on LINE MUSIC based on word of mouth alone.
Nana Music, Inc. developed and operated the nana music collaboration app, which allows users to record and post themselves singing or playing musical instruments. Users can add layers of vocals or music to any sound posted on Nana to create choral or acapella arrangements, band performances, and more, allowing them to enjoy music collaboration anytime, anywhere. The app has approximately 10 million registered users.
In February 2022, Yamaha hosted a vocals audition via the “nana” music collaboration app to introduce VOCALOID to a broader audience. The audition allowed the winner to have their vocals featured in a VOCALOID voicebank. “Taki Takota (Philo)” was selected as the grand prize winner from 3,182 valid entries based on her impressive singing skills and characteristic sound.
The release of the “Fuiro” voice bank for VOCALOID6 is a testament to Yamaha’s commitment to providing cutting-edge technology and innovative products for music lovers worldwide. The voice bank is expected to inspire a new generation of music creators and enthusiasts. It offers users a new way to enjoy Philo’s powerful vocals and create their music using her unique singing style. With the special introductory price of $45 (without tax), now is the perfect time to purchase the “Fuiro” voice bank and create your VOCALOID songs.
