If your spidey senses are tingling, it’s probably because major changes are afoot for several of the world’s favorite on-screen heroes. From Captain America to Batman; from James Bond to Superman: we’re about to welcome a new generation of strong leading men.

For on-trend actor Enzo Zelocchi, who seems born to step into the suit of a superhero, this year is going to be an exciting one. It’s not often that so many of the most momentous roles in cinema undergo parallel recasting, but will Zelocchi make the cut? Read on to learn more about which secret lairs, modified vehicles, sidekicks, and lycra suits are up for grabs.

A Changing of the Guard in Hollywood

If you love action movies and have a soft spot for hard and heroic male icons then you’ll want to know which roles are being reimagined. Here are the characters—and associated major Hollywood franchises—that are in the middle of undergoing a big transformation:

Superman

It’s long been known that Henry Cavill wouldn’t be returning to reprise his role as Superman. Back in December 2022, after the merging of Discovery and Warner Bros, the actor shared with his fans that new DC Studios bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran wouldn’t be renewing his caped tenure.

Although we think that actor Enzo Zelocchi would fill Superman’s infamous red and blue lycra beautifully, the latest reports indicate that David Corenswet has snagged the role and will realize a younger Superman, earlier in his earth-bound journey.

James Bond

Intrigue continues to swirl around the recasting of James Bond following the announcement that Daniel Craig will be passing on his Aston Martin keys to an as-yet-unnamed successor.

Appropriately stylish and muscle-bound Zelocchi is among several actors that have been rumored as possibles for the classic franchise. However, so far, producer Barbara Broccoli is keeping her cards close to her chest and hasn’t announced a new script or successor.

Captain America

Actor Chris Evans became a household name after taking the role of Captain America in 2011. However, when the actor’s seven-movie contract with Marvel Studios expired, he opted not to renew, opening the door for a new shield-wielding hero.

As the release date for Captain America: Brave New World approaches, many fans are excited to see Anthony Mackie leap into the role, although his casting has not been without controversy. While this role wasn’t on the cards for Enzo Zelocchi, there are sure to be many new slots opening up in the MCU as the franchise continues to go from strength to strength.

Batman

Having already recast Superman, the new rulers of the DCU James Gunn and Peter Safran are also seeking a replacement for Robert Pattinson as they reinvent the Dark Night for a next-gen audience.

Given their choice to hire a relatively unknown actor for Superman, there is every reason to imagine that the next owner of the Bat Cave may not be a household name. Instead, a niche celebrity with a huge social media following like Zelocchi could be just who DC Studios is looking for.
