Trippy Ja, The Life as a Record Producer

Published on March 13, 2022

Fans of the Hip hop and Rap music scene are captivated by an upcoming producer from Philadelphia. Record producer Trippy Ja is making a statement in the music industry with the release of hit singles “Nipsey Blue,” featuring platinum artist 24hrs, and “Imma Ball,” featuring hip hop celebrity YBN Nahmir.

Trippy Ja, who was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, grew to love music at a very young age. Even though his family did not have any musical background or instruments, he started learning how to play drums and guitar through YouTube tutorials. Eventually buying a drum set and a fender guitar, Trippy Ja started playing in multiple local bands. Even though playing cover music at late night bars paid the bills, he knew he needed to make more out of his extraordinary talents. After years of endless gigging in the city, Trippy Ja decided to head to the recording studio and put his real craft to work.

However, recording his first single did not come as easy as he thought. Even though Trippy Ja had the ability to record all the instruments he needed, he still desired to have artists sing and rap melodies on his beats. Soon collaborating with local Philadelphia rappers and singers, Trippy Ja released multiple records that spiked the interests of big names in the industry such as YBN and 24hrs.

After teaming up with Lil Yatchy’s brother and gaining more traction across the east coast, Trippy Ja soon released the collaboration between him and multi-platinum artist YBN Nahmir, titled “Imma Ball”. The song hit 1 million on SoundCloud within the first week of release and over 5 million across all digital streaming platforms, creating a breaking point in Trippy Ja’s music career.

He established himself as a defined producer in the hip hop industry in 2021. Moving into a new studio on the outskirts of Philadelphia, Trippy Ja quit his job and put full focus into his music production. Linking up with 24hrs later that year, the two artists released a collaboration titled “Nipsey Blue” in tribute to Nipsey Hussle.

Currently, Trippy Ja is working with idols Futuristic and 24hrs on a new album expected to premiere early this summer titled “Listen to Me.”
