Gora Kadan is pleased to announce that they recently signed a memorandum of agreement for a jointly operated sushi restaurant along with a three Michelin-star restaurant, Sushi Yoshitake. They will be opening in the summer of 2023. Sushi Yoshitake is also a popular restaurant that has been awarded three stars by Michelin Guide Tokyo for twelve consecutive years.

Gora Kadan will continue to make the necessary preparations for the opening of the sushi restaurant in the summer of 2023. On top of this, they have also invited Masahiro Yoshitake, who continues to transform Edomae sushi, to provide the deep world of nigiri sushi, a traditional element of Japanese food culture and representative of the intangible cultural heritage of Japan, on the premises of Gora Kadan, one of the top ryotei ryokans in the country.

Everyone is invited to experience only the best, exquisite, and refined sushi jointly offered by these top Japanese hotel and restaurant firms.

Sushi Yoshitake always values innovation, tradition, and amazing craftsmanship in pursuit of the finest of Edomae sushi. Opened in Ginza in 2010, Sushi Yoshitake has been awarded three stars by Michelin Guide Tokyo for more than a decade already. Its owner Masahiro Yoshitake has also received high praise for his uncompromising Edomae sushi.

Sushi Shikon, created by Sushi Yoshitake, opened in Hong Kong in 2013 and has been awarded three stars by Michelin Guide Hong Kong Macau for nine consecutive years.

The sushi that is made with new sensibility while restoring tradition is the ultimate in sophistication, uniting thoroughly picked sushi rice with vinegar, which is a transformation of the red vinegar that was handed down from the Edo period. It also includes seasonal ingredients procured from all around Japan and also has wasabi (Japanese horseradish).

Sushi Yoshitake aims and continues to attract gourmets from across the globe with its ever-changing Edomae nigiri-sushi.

On the other hand, Gora Kadan is an inn that combines the ancient, rich Japanese atmosphere with a modern expression.

Gora Kadan is a ryotei that is located in the lovely natural setting of Hakone. The inn was originally established as a summer villa for the Kan-in-no-Miya family, one of the four royal families of the Edo period, and was built in 1952.

The modern architecture, established on a site of at least 17,000 square meters that highlights the beauty of every season, is an open area where one can feel in tune with nature.

In 1991, the hotel became one of the members of Relais & Chateaux, a popular hotel and restaurant group at the same time, after undergoing a strict selection process. In 2002, the hotel was also awarded the Welcome Trophy, given to establishments offering an exquisite level of customer satisfaction and a high standard of service.

It was picked from among the 469 establishments globally, which were members of Relais & Chateaux. It’s also highly recognized by distinguished guests both from Japan and overseas.

Gora Kadan is also located on the grounds of Kan’in-no-Miya Villa, which is the previous summer villa of a member of the Imperial Family in the town of Gora in Hakone. In the villa, which combines Japanese tradition together with modern design elements, they provide hot spring waters flowing freely from the source and genuine kaiseki cuisine prepared with strictly picked seasonal ingredients.
