In the Skincare industry passion is in no shortage, and one with an abundance in passion is Tonnie Thompson. The product of that passion? Puvoir.
Tonnie is a Licensed Paramedical Esthetician, the “paramedical” part of her title speaks to the extra training and time in school spent perfecting her craft, gaining additional knowledge of skin health, skin problems and the solutions they require. Paramedical Estheticians have the ability to become support for plastic surgeons, and dermatologists. Usually these professionals consult with them for skin care treatments with an emphasis on care. This additional education deepened Tonnie’s understanding of the skin, the human body, and of the business.
Tonnie always knew skincare was the industry that feeds her passion. When she was younger, a little over twenty years ago, she wanted to enroll in school in order to become a Licensed Esthetician with her ultimate goal being to open a spa. At the time however, her dad, an ambitious man who wanted the best for his daughter, did not see her vision, didn’t support her going into the service industry, halted her dream and inserted a hiatus in her passion.
Due to this lack of support she turned to traditional University and enrolled in computer networking and computer science, spending the next twenty years in the tech industry. While she has a clear passion for technology, Tonnie has always been pulled to skincare. Strangely enough she received a phone call from her dad over a decade later, apologizing for not supporting her, for not opening a salon for her, and for not seeing her vision.
Of course this had an incredible effect on Tonnie.
Not realizing how much she needed his approval to move into skin care, she almost immediately began to pursue her license once again. Earning it as well as the respect of her peers and instructors, brainstorming a way to make her mark on the skincare industry, she set forth.
What better way than to merge together the love of both industries?
