The House of Feigenblatt Opening Permanent Mission to the Central American Parliament (PARLACEN)

The House of Feigenblatt will be opening its permanent mission to the Central American Parliament (PARLACEN) on the 16th of December. Ambassador Daniel del Valle Blanco, Youth Envoy of the Central American Parliament, was a key promoter of this important partnership. As one of the youngest diplomats in the world and one of the few diplomats under thirty to have served as a head of mission at the United Nations, Ambassador del Valle Blanco emphasizes the importance of education in human capital formation. His Excellency Carlos Hernandez Castillo, the young yet experienced President of the Central American Parliament, is equally enthusiastic about bringing educational opportunities to the region through the good offices of PARLACEN. His dynamic leadership of the regional block fosters a strong regional identity through international development projects and the sharing of best practices. Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, and the Dominican Republic are the members states of the Central American Parliament.

Education is at the core of the mission and vision of the House of Feigenblatt. The Household of His Excellency Ambassador Otto Federico von Feigenblatt includes prominent members from the private and public sectors, such as former heads of state, academicians, and practitioners in a wide range of fields. Its flagship project is the “Ambassador Otto Federico von Feigenblatt” Interuniversity Lecture Series for Peace, Development, and Education which is housed in CUGS University of Mexico. The Interuniversity Lecture Series cooperates with over forty universities and national academies in over thirty countries.  Sessions have been held at the United Nations, Andean Parliament, National Assembly of Ecuador, among many other prestigious locations. Members of the House serve on a pro bono basis to share their experience and expertise with a wide range of stakeholders.

On the 16th of December, the House of Feigenblatt will sign an agreement with the Central American Parliament to establish the Permanent Mission of the House of Feigenblatt to the Central American Parliament (PARLACEN). The Permanent Mission will coordinate a range of projects with PARLACEN, such as research, student exchanges, and capacity building. An outstanding lineup of diplomats comprises the inaugural members of the Permanent Mission. Ambassador Daniel del Valle Blanco, will be serving as ambassador and deputy permanent representative, thus bringing youth, energy, and a fresh perspective to the Mission. Dr. Mathew J. Anderson will be serving as Minister Counsellor for Education, bringing a wealth of experience and regional knowledge from his many years leading one of the top American universities in the region, the Latin American Campus of Keiser University. Professor Chris Brown, Head of the School of Education at the University of Southampton, is one of the top scholars in the field and a leading researcher in the field of educational policy. Professor Brown will be joining the Mission as Minister Counsellor for Applied Researcher. Mr. Arif Anis, MBE, a leadership expert and best-selling author, will also be serving as Minister Counsellor and thus bring a practitioner perspective to the team. His Excellency Ambassador Otto Federico von Feigenblatt, prominent academic and diplomat, will be serving as ambassador and permanent representative as head of the Mission. The rest of the team will be announced on the day of the establishment of the Permanent Mission.

The House of Feigenblatt is also opening a permanent cooperation mission to the Andean Parliament on the 9th of December in Bogota, Colombia. Dr. Hassan Khalil, FRACGP, SQIL, an accomplished surgeon and expert on aesthetics, will be serving as Minister Counsellor for Public Health in this mission. Mr. Miguel Angel Alcivar will be serving as Minister Counsellor for Cultural Affairs, and Dr. Taehee Choi of the University of Southampton, as a counselor, among many others who will be joining the inaugural roster of members of the Permanent Cooperation Mission to the Andean Parliament.

It should be noted that both missions will have the support and advice of the many prominent collar members of the House, such luminaires as Her Excellency Zolanda Pluas, Member of the National Assembly of Ecuador and Chair of the Commission on Education, Dr. Fidel Marquez Sanchez, Counsellor of the Consejo de Education Superior of Ecuador, and Her Excellency Lilia Batista, Member of the Legislative Assembly of Panama and President of the Education Commission, among many others.
