The Curious Band ‘My Only’ – A Rock Band With Massive Stadium Sound

Published on July 12, 2022

The Curious band brings a charismatic sound that takes you on a nostalgic journey. The Curious played plenty of shows and festivals all around the country, such as BST Hyde Park and Camp Bestival. They have worked with prestigious music producer Nick Tauber, who has been around longer than most, worked at Decca Records, and with artists like Marillion, Thin Lizzy, and more.

The Curious is a London-based band that was founded by the frontman Dominic Benjamin Smith (vocals) in early 2014; then met Sam Roberts (drums); before introducing Alexander Dreyer-Nuti (bass). The other members then came across Jay Fricker (guitar).

“My Only” is a song you need to hear with its melodic sounds and incredibly catchy and captivating choruses. “My Only” was recorded at Lightship Soup Studio and mastered at Metropolis studio.

“My Only” has a catchy tune that instantly gets your attention. It also has a deep and meaningful story behind the song. It is about “a girl who lives in a society where she feels like she’s consistently being lied to from all angles, except the person she feels closest to.” This story is cleverly brought to life with rumbling bass tones and excitable synthesizer sounds (harking back to some of the best 80s pop tunes) and paired with heavy, punchy guitars, making for a perfect runaway soundtrack.
