This year, in the main event, Clay Collard (24-10) and Olivier Aubin-Mercier (20-5) are set to face each other in the 2023 PFL lightweight championship. In the co-main event, Renan Ferreira (11-4) and Denis Goltsov (32-7) square off in the heavyweight final.

2022 Lightweight World Champion Olivier Aubin-Mercier has maintained his perfect PFL record and returned to another championship fight.

On the other hand is Clay Collard, PFL’s most entertaining fighter. Clay Collard is in his first-ever PFL Championship after three dominant victories this year. His last fight came against Fight of the Year nominee Shane Burgos in the playoffs, where he threw over 400 strikes in 3 rounds to secure a unanimous decision.

Last season’s champion, Sweden’s Sadibou Sy, faces the 2018 champion, Russia’s Magomed Magomedkerimov, for this year’s Welterweight World Championship. He lost in the finals in 2021 but has won five fights since and beat Solomon Renfro to advance this year.

These two came against each other in the 2021 playoffs, where Magomedkerimov won unanimously. However, Sy has substantially improved his overall game, especially his grappling. Since that defeat, he has won seven fights in a row. He won the belt last year and is looking to win another one now.
