New Premium Coffee Brand Poet Coffee Set to Electrify the Coffee Industry

If you’re reading this with a cup in hand, it’s worth considering how, where, and by whom your coffee beans were grown and roasted. Sipping coffee is the great global equalizer, but how it is sourced and roasted hasn’t always leaned too heavily into ESG (economic, social, governance). Until now.

The coffee industry is about to get a lot more interesting with the upcoming launch of a new premium brand, Poet Coffee, this fall. Poet Coffee combines ethical sourcing, an innovative electric roasting technique, a unique subscription model, and one of modern poetry’s great minds to bring coffee lovers an environmentally-forward choice blend.

Electric roasting is the coffee industry’s future

Poet Coffee is the brainchild of New York Times best-selling poet Atticus who sought to create the perfect cup – one that diminishes the carbon footprint of the industry while empowering women-owned farms and farmers and is delivered with maximum flavor and freshness. He partnered with Berkeley-based startup Bellwether Coffee to do it. Bellwether uses a new, all-electric, recirculating roasting technology that reduces the carbon footprint of each roasting cycle by 90% on average. Poet Coffee also works with Bellwether to source and blend the beans, all with sustainability and positive social impact in mind.

According to CEO Whitney Milhoan, “Poet Coffee is a premium, high-quality whole bean coffee sourced from Central American women-owned farms where farmers are paid a fair and living wage.” She also shares that Poet Coffee is roasted in small batches and delivered to customers’ doorsteps within a week of roasting, ensuring peak flavor and freshness in every cup.

“For the ones who will change the world”

The enigmatic and anonymous Atticus wanted his ideal blend to be exquisite, made with integrity, and delivered with care to ensure optimum flavor. The Hemingway In Paris Blend by Poet Coffee is the sip-savoring result – a smooth-tasting coffee with notes of dark chocolate, raspberry, and red cherry, as well as aromas of baking spice and vanilla. Atticus describes this roast as “flavorful and balanced – the perfect complement to your favorite daily routine,” and says it is designed for “the writers, the dreamers, the ones who will change the world.”

He also dedicates this product to fellow coffee lovers and those who enjoy creating beautiful things. Each bag arrives every one, two, three, or four weeks, depending on the selected subscription model, and always within a week of being roasted to ensure each cup is as fresh as possible. The Hemingway In Paris blend is available in 10-ounce, two-pound, and five-pound bags.

“When I began my quest to create the perfect cup of coffee, it was with you in mind. So here it is. My mistress. My friend. My co-creator. My perfect coffee in every way – Poet Coffee. I hope it brings you what it brings me — ideas you’ve never thought of, art you’ve never imagined, and the words you didn’t know were there.” xx, Atticus.
