Leveraging Social Media as an Asset for Success, With Luis Alvarado, the Founder of Unlimited Leverage

Published on May 31, 2022

For Luis Alvarado, a DeFi investment mentor and the founder of Unlimited Leverage, his social media brand has been the most critical asset in his ramping success as an investor and entrepreneur.

“The best thing that I have done in my life is to pick up my phone and record myself talking about what I love,” asserted Luis during a recent interview. “Then, people just started following me.”

Over the past years, Luis has built a thriving career as a DeFi investor and, more recently, as an online DeFi investment mentor. He developed the Unlimited Leverage passive income accelerator program, a course that aids driven investors to dive into the crypto market. With his company, Luis has taught hundreds of students worldwide how to generate passive income streams that yield up to 500% in annual returns.

Luis’ career as a DeFi investment mentor did not begin in what many could describe as a traditional way. Back in 2018, after diving into the world of investment, Luis started to post short videos on his Instagram page, explaining the difference between passive and active income and how to maximize passive income. These simple, homemade videos on social media became the catalysts for his booming career as a DeFi investment mentor.

Luis agreed to sit down and connect for a video interview back in January. From his condo overviewing downtown Las Vegas, he discussed how to leverage the power of social media and the importance of building a solid social media brand.

Unequivocally, the recent rise of fake news and hate speech on social media has shown the world the darker side of these platforms. However, as Luis elaborates, social media is the largest communal library humanity has ever seen, where consumers and creators interact and share their expertise.

“Social media is a free tool, and there is a lot of knowledge available,” said Luis. “You can use it in two ways. As a consumer, you can use social media to consume content that’s gonna help you grow. Or you can be a creator and share your knowledge.”

Luis chose the second path. Since his college years, when he created breakdance videos for YouTube, he has learned to use social media to expand his voice and share what he is passionate about with the world.
“As a producer or creator, you can take your knowledge, channel it, and share it with people,” explained Luis. “Then, if it resonates with them and you are providing value to others, people will want to pay for your time.”

After becoming an investor, Luis began posting videos on his social media explaining the different types of income and giving tips on generating passive income. The material that he shared was nothing already not available online. However, Luis presented the information in a structured format that was easy to understand.

Soon, Luis’ videos started to attract audiences from many corners of the world. Then, like many other content creators in the social media era, what began as a passion for Luis became the door to a career in coaching.

“With these videos, I was just making an offer completely free; I didn’t run any ads or anything,” said Luis. “Then, people just started coming to me asking, ‘hey, I wanna learn more; I wanna go ahead and invest; do you have a program or a course?’”

It has been three years since Luis officially began his career as an investment mentor. Today, at his “Passive Income Accelerator” program, he works with students from around the globe, teaching them how to invest in the crypto market and gain financial independence.

Luis exhorted other online entrepreneurs to build their social media brands at the end of the interview. As he acknowledged, investing in his social media presence was and is the most critical determinant of his entrepreneurial success.

“Thanks to social media,” concluded Luis, “I was able to make money by just leveraging my specialized knowledge and the free tools that exist online.”
