Interview With Milano & Marv’l

Published on September 09, 2021

We got to sit down and interview Milano & Marv’l. Here’s how it went.

Interview with Milano:

What first got you into music?

I struggled a lot as a kid with anger and the proper way to express it, and we tried sports everything. When I found music, it was like for the first time I had an outlet. I could healthily express myself without getting myself into some things I didn’t need to be a part of.

Who inspired you to make music?

My uncle. He’s never made music, but the drive and hustle he applies to the life he passed to me making music. He said, “ Neph if you want that shit go get it, period.”

How would you describe the music that you typically create?

I wouldn’t say I have a typical sound or form of music; I try to diversify what I create, keep a mixture of styles I enjoy and keep a broad spectrum to make everyone feel like they can share a part of me.

What is your creative process like?

I start by honestly going through beats and waiting for one to speak to me. When I catch that vibe, everything flows like water after that. Music has its own language, and when my instrumentals are of the same energy, my heart is the result of the music I’ve created.

Who would you most like to collaborate with?

Off the muscle juice WRLD no questions asked. Juice is easily the one artist that has shaped me as a musician and as a person. It would have been an honor to do something with him for sure.

If you could open a show for any artist, who would it be?

I have to go with Uzi on this one. The energy in his crowds is relatively unmatched, and I feed off others’ energy. I like to be just as wild as the crowd, and who better to do that with than Uzi?

Interview with Marv’l:

What first got you into music?

Growing up living in a Christian household, there were always beautiful melodies & meaningful lyrics incorporated in every song played around me, which led me to want to create that same vibe & energy to put out for the world to hear.

Who inspired you to make music?

Wyclef Jean plays a good role in why I am pursuing music being a Haitian artist. At 8 years old, I went to his concert and randomly got called up to the stage to perform one of his songs with my brother & seeing 100’s of people enjoying themself to something you love just as much it’s life-changing.

How would you describe the music that you typically create?

I make more melodic music than anything, but I stay as versatile as I possibly can. Rapping is how I started, so switching it up was a must if I wanted to be more useful in the music industry.

What is your creative process like?

I take my time really thinking about how I’m feeling & understand why I’m feeling that way, and putting it down on paper to show the world.

Who would you like to collaborate with?

I would have to say most definitely, Travis Scott. My boy WHOPS put me on to him way back & ever since, I have been a fan of his high-energy packed tracks and the connection he has with his fans on & off stage.

If you could open a show for any artist, who would it be?

I would open for Billie Eilish.
