In this interview, we delve into permanent makeup artistry with a prominent artist, Stanislav Miroshnichenko, who has made significant strides in the industry. Gain valuable knowledge about industry trends, challenges, and aspirations, and discover the artist’s unique perspective on the art of permanent makeup.

Can you tell us about your experience and achievements in permanent makeup artistry?

I’ve been working in the field of permanent makeup for four years. Within a year of receiving my professional certification, I started teaching other artists. Alongside teaching, I’ve spoken at international congresses on permanent makeup and participated in industry events, including PMU Fashion Argentina 2022 and WOLOP Argentina 2023. This summer, I’ve been invited to speak at WOLOP Argentina 2024, which will be held in Buenos Aires from August 26 to 28, 2024. As an ambassador of the Etalon Mix brand, I’m proud to represent the company and its products.

What was the most challenging part of your path so far, and how did you overcome it?

It was definitely when I decided to expand my business to an international level. I spent a lot of time analyzing different countries, and through this process, I realized that Latin America has enormous potential for growth. To achieve this goal, I knew I would need to be physically present in Latin America. This meant leaving my comfort zone, relocating to a new country, learning Spanish from scratch, and building relationships with new clients and students. It wasn’t easy, but I persevered and am excited about the future here in Argentina.

How would you describe the current state of the permanent makeup industry in Argentina?

The industry in Argentina and Latin America is currently developing. In terms of quality, it’s not yet as advanced as Russia’s industry. Certain techniques and materials that are common in Russia are still considered innovative in Argentina. It’s amazing that I can bring the expertise and knowledge I gained in Russia here to contribute to the industry’s development.

What changes do you want to see in the industry in the next few years?

When it comes to permanent makeup procedures, I believe we should shift toward quality over quantity. We can do this by improving practitioners’ knowledge and sense of responsibility toward our clients.

What do you think will be the upcoming beauty trends in the next few years?

The trend of naturalness and health is gaining popularity in the world of permanent makeup, which is a positive development. That said, it’s important to remember that permanent makeup shouldn’t be seen as a replacement for regular daytime and evening makeup; it’s not a tattoo that lasts forever. Instead, it should aim to create natural-looking hair strokes and shadows that complement your features. I see the industry continuing in this direction in the coming years.

What advice would you give to someone who is just starting out as a permanent makeup artist?

Permanent makeup is a complex procedure. It requires a deep knowledge of anatomy, physics, chemistry, and pigmentology. For aspiring artists, high-quality education is a must, and I’d encourage them to continuously improve their skills. Also, training should always be conducted on artificial skin rather than on people to avoid making mistakes. There’s no room for error in our art, so the longer you train, the more predictable results clients will receive.

Who in the industry inspires you?

I’m happy to be a member of Etalon Mix’s diverse team of experts, and I’ve had the pleasure of working with many exceptional professionals. That said, I value my individuality and prefer to set my own goals for personal growth.

What are your hopes for the future?

In addition to my work as an artist, I plan to launch a brand of specialized products for permanent makeup and tattoo artists.

What was the first instance when you realized creating a beauty brand would be possible?

I have always wanted to create my own brand that produces specialized products for permanent makeup and tattoo artists. Manufacturing is necessary for expanding my business globally. Currently, I’m developing new products that will be launched soon, with the ultimate goal of going international.
