Anna Iris, an actress, published novelist, and indie filmmaker, recently launched an IndieGoGo fundraising campaign to finance the post-production of “The Labyrinth,” a psychological thriller film created with the goal of raising awareness for mental health issues.
Hailing from Greece, Iris is passionate about bringing awareness to the mental health issues that affect millions of people worldwide. “The Labyrinth” is Iris’s first full-length feature film.
The film is set to release on April 30, 2022. After funding the production of the film with independently sourced funds, Iris is seeking the assistance of IndieGoGo donors for the additional funding needed for the post-production costs.
The birth of the idea for “The Labyrinth” occurred two years ago when Iris created a campaign called “Awareness the Project.” Iris created short videos to generate dialogue about and awareness of issues including deforestation, environmental pollution, addiction, domestic violence, racism, mental health, and more.
“The fact that this film is raising awareness about mental health issues is because I have struggled with depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress. The subject is very close to my heart,” Iris says.
The film “The Labyrinth” follows a mother, her six-year-old daughter, and the daughter’s grandfather through the creation of a storybook that sends them all on their own personal journeys through mental health challenges, inner demons, and chilling, unexplainable happenings. Iris tags this film as a thriller with elements of horror, suspense, and drama.
Some of the questions the film explores include the following: Are all the suppressed memories you once left behind still waiting for you around the corner? Has there ever been a fairytale that could save a life?
30 artists from around the world have participated in the making of “The Labyrinth.” Iris says that the support of her patrons will give her the opportunity to share more important stories and spread awareness through her art in the future.
“Your support means a lot and I am deeply grateful for all your help in completing this project,” Iris says to her existing supporters.
New supporters can assist Iris on a variety of levels. Supporters are thanked with a variety of perks, including signed posters, signed books, and even associate producer credit for the most generous donors.

The film “The Labyrinth,” Iris says, is dedicated to the loving memory of David Fletcher, a proud Yorkshire man, who suffered in silence and whose soul sailed over to the other side on January 7, 2004.
