Iranian-born Salar Nouri grew up in the United Kingdom after his family immigrated for new opportunities. As he grew, his interests turned toward storytelling, cinema, writing, animation, and other creative pursuits. He attended University College London (UCL) with the intention of expanding his technical skills and general knowledge. He expended his skills at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA) with a Text and Performance Master’s degree in 2018.
Even with such a strong foundation of CG animation and cinematographic education, Salar hungered for more. He took another long journey halfway around the world to Los Angeles, CA, and this was the place to be for aspiring professional animators and film producers.
Salar spent his time in the United States at the USC School of Cinematic Arts in Los Angeles. Among other inspirations, he was able to work with his professor, Michael Toshiyuki Uno. This respected director is well-known for TV series and movies, including Dawson’s Creek and A Private Affair. He was nominated for an Oscar for his 1982 short film The Silence.
With years of in-depth education behind him and inspiration filling his mind, Salar Nouri threw himself into the creation of CG animation and artwork and the production of short films of his own. Today, he has built a brand to watch with Nouri Pictures. The unique and visionary style of his animated films attracts attention and points to a bright and successful. He takes on a diverse range of roles when it comes to fulfilling his creative vision: director, producer, screenwriter, CG artist, and animator.
Nouri Pictures was founded in 2020 in London and has already made an impact on the animated short film world. Together with his talented team, the picture company stays true to its mission of creating motion pictures with rich storylines and images that both magnify and transcend reality. Their first animated short film, Treemen, the story of a young woman with questions about her mystical tribe’s traditions and history, will appear at film festivals around the world in 2022. This project marks only the beginning of what promises to be an impactful career for Salar Nouri and his team.
