Based on Virginia Woolf’s funniest novel, the movie is set to introduce us to Katherine Hilbery, portrayed by Bennet, a forward-looking astronomer determined to pursue her career while avoiding romantic love and marriage at any cost. According to US distributor WestEnd, Gharavi’s vision promises viewers a fun exploration of contemporary themes with an exceptional ensemble cast, set against the ravishing backdrop of London at the turn of the 20th Century.
Zelocchi is stepping into the role of Hubert Basnet, showcasing his ripe adaptability for period prose and fashion while joining a production team helmed by Justine Waddell, who also adapted Woolf’s novel for the screen. The movie is a UK-German co-production, with shooting already underway and split between Newcastle, England and Cologne, Germany. So far, we can confirm that WME Independent will be sharing US distribution with WestEnd, while WildBunch will distribute in several European locations.
