Trust Me Vodka, an Idaho ultra-premium vodka producer and a devoted art sponsor, is announcing its partnership with Donny Gillies, a.k.a. ‘Dirty Donny,’ a freelance artist who gets inspired throughout his artistic life by the rock, punk, and metal music culture. The partnership continues Trust Me Vodka’s tradition of making alliances with talented artists whose art decorates their limited series vodka bottles.

This time, the symbiosys of the vodka brand and an artist who is a lifelong Metallica aficionado and the band’s artistic partner is bound to produce an explosive cocktail. The new limited series Trust Me Vodka 20,000-bottle batch is graced with Donny’s art habitually present on other, more traditional surfaces such as album covers, posters, rock musicians’ guitars, hot rods, skateboards, pinball machines, and many others. Thanks to joining forces with Trust Me Vodka, Donny’s art will serve as a backdrop for a crystal-clear premium-quality drink.

At the July 27th release party in San Diego, with over 300 people in attendance to meet the artist to the beat of live music by an up-and-coming band, the Bombpops, Donny talked about his partnership with Trust Me Vodka and his artwork on the limited collection of bottles. “This time, I was going to have a retro 80s pop trash look, very skateboardesque.. and kind of pull together both these elements into two bottles… They look especially cool behind the glass,” shares Donny. “You look through the glass, through the logo, and the liquid… It all looks really cool,’ reflects Donny looking at a Trust Me Vodka bottle with his creation at the backdrop. One can trust Donny as his art is so sincere, and his life story proves it.

Born in1974, in Ottawa, Canada, Gillies now lives in San Francisco. Many may have seen his art not knowing it is his; one may find it on skateboards, posters, rock album covers, T-shirts. His rise to artistic [kh1] prominence began in 2002 when Donny had his stroke of luck. A friend of his showed his work to Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett during the shooting of Some Kind of Monster documentary. Kirk loved Donny’s style and from there on, it snowballed; band members had their guitars painted by Donny, and his career took off. He got settled in San Fransisco because the locals loved his art. Having become a vital team member, Donny has been working on the band’s many artistic aspects. He also came to know the rock legends in person and created bass guitars for the Donnas’s Maya Ford and Metallica’s Robert Trujillo.

Trust Me Vodka limited series bottles with Donny’s art are now available for order on the company’s website.
