In the niche world of anime & video game voice acting, few names resonate as prominently as D.C. Douglas. Known for his versatile roles in video games, anime, and cartoons, Douglas brought his whimsy and deep voice to Weebcon in Dallas, Texas, signing autographs and entertaining fans with his irreverent humor.

One of the highlights of the convention was Douglas’s unexpected encounter with a new generation of fans. Once young admirers of his character Chase in “Transformers Rescue Bots,” these kids have grown into young adults, now seeking autographs and reminiscing about their childhood hero.

Attendees of Weebcon also included fans of his roles in other older shows, such as Shoot McMahon from “Hunter X Hunter,” as well as some of his on-camera cult credits like “Sharknado 2” and “Z Nation.”

Douglas’s participation in a “Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure” panel alongside Chris Jai Alex was a standout moment. With Alex unfamiliar with the “Diamond is Unbreakable” arc, Douglas had audience members unfamiliar with the show cover their ears as he humorously summarized the serial killer’s convoluted plot line in a mere 20 seconds.

During the QA, Douglas shared an intriguing coincidence from his work on “Killer Klowns from Outer Space.” While recording for the game, he mentioned this was his second role as a character with the name Wesker — only to discover that his new character was named in homage to the iconic villain because the writer was a huge fan. Since the producer had no idea D.C. had been Albert Wesker for 12 years, the revelation had them both in stitches. A text was sent to the writer, who was over the moon.

Reflecting on his experience at Weebcon, D.C. Douglas shared, “What an unbelievable treat! I don’t do many of these conventions, so it’s always a blast to meet fans, but, man, Dallas and Weebcon are on a whole other level. Such sweet people – both fans and the organizers!”

Looking ahead, Douglas teased several upcoming projects, including the eagerly anticipated “Killer Klowns From Outer Space,” set to release on June 4th. While bound by nondisclosure agreements, he hinted at exciting developments in the pipeline. Fans can also look forward to seeing him guest starring in a new TV show set in the Old West, where he will portray an intimidating marshal, adding a whole different flavor to his on-camera credits.
