Courageous Kicks Taekwondo of Titusville Celebrates the Historic USCDKA’s National Championship Win

Happy Kierstead has no doubt her team, Courageous Kicks Taekwondo will walk out of the Daytona Beach Hilton Oceanfront Resort with their heads held high as champions. 26 students take on 30 schools and 250 competitors across the country on July 15 through 16. They dominate the color belt, junior black belts, and black belts category.

“We competed to encourage students that competitions teach [goal setting], and [good sportsmanship], and help us [get better] as we challenge ourselves.” This USCDKA National Championship helps make our team stronger as we train together, encourage one another, and build stronger friendships, “Kierstead said.”

This marked the first time that a 6th degree master was inducted as a hall of fame black belt role model. In 2012, she became the first person in the country to win first place twice. Her coach was Juan Moreno, a three-time Olympian. Then she served under the supervision of Senior Grand Master Edward B. Sell and Grand Master Brenda Sell.

“We are expanding the school.” The team is set for our next tournament, the Teal Tournament, in September. The proceeds will go to support ovarian cancer research, “she added.

Courageous Kicks Taekwondo is a Christian taekwondo school based in Brevard County, Florida devoted to its students. A school that teaches Christian values to be strong and courageous.
