Copenhagen Fashion Week (CPHFW) announced the lineup for the SS24 edition of Copenhagen Fashion Week, which will signal a moment of expansion with shows commencing a day earlier, on a Monday afternoon. Showcasing both established leaders and emerging innovators this season, SS24 will present new designers in the CPHFW NEWTALENT program, returning designers to the schedule as well as the winner of the newly announced Zalando Visionary Award.

Last week, Copenhagen Fashion Week announced the lineup for the SS24 edition taking place 7-11 August 2023, encompassing 31 brands that the CPHFW Show Committee and CPHFW Sustainability Committee have approved. Following such a unique screening process, CPHFW brands have been selected both from fashion design criteria as well as a full value chain perspective, as they have been screened against Copenhagen Fashion Week’s 18 Minimum Standards.

Copenhagen Fashion Week’s CEO, Cecilie Thorsmark, said: “Continuing on our debut season of the Sustainability Requirements, we are greatly excited to showcase brands for this upcoming spring/summer edition of Copenhagen Fashion Week that are living up to our Minimum Standards. From brands that are new to our schedule to those who have been part before, it is notable their dedication to operate more responsibly. Furthermore, as we are welcoming several newcomers this edition, it is apparent that Copenhagen Fashion Week remains attractive not only in the Nordic brands but also beyond.”

“As our fashion weeks continue to grow, we too must expand into the wider part of the week in order to give the deserved time and space for the exceptional lineup we have planned for SS24 across shows, presentations, events and activations. This growth is symbolic furthermore of our organizations’ reach and reputation on a global scale, of which we are so thankful for our continued supporters and partners and brands.”

On Friday, Phunky London, Creative Director of German fashion magazine Luxenburg, commented: “Copenhagen Fashion Week will now include Monday in their schedule to accommodate its growth. The Opening Ceremony will take place on Monday afternoon, followed by a selection of significant shows. This change will provide a break on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, allowing attendees more time to support the various presentations, events, showrooms, and trade fairs.

CPHFW NEWTALENT supported by Circulose, a 100% recycled material for fashion

CPHFW NEWTALENT, supported by Circulose, will showcase four brands in its SS24 edition. The talent support scheme will continue to feature Latimmier and P.L.N. from the previous season, along with Nicklas Skovgaard, a finalist of the Wessel & Vett Fashion Prize 2022, and Rolf Ekroth, who will debut this season.

MLGA has been awarded the CPHFW NEWTALENT One To Watch slot, which will provide her with the opportunity to present her upcoming collection through a presentation or event format.

Brands that are part of CPHFW NEWTALENT supported by Circulose® will receive monetary support, mentorships, partnership offerings, professional advisors, onboarding to the official CPHFW show schedule, event participation, showroom activations, alumni network, and extensive PR through CPHFW’s international community and channels for three consecutive seasons. Afterward, each designer will move on to the alumni scheme.

Zalando Visionary Award

Zalando and Copenhagen Fashion Week have jointly introduced the Zalando Visionary Award to recognize and reward upcoming designers who demonstrate creativity, innovation, and a positive social impact. The winner of the first edition of the award is Paolina Russo for SS24. The London-based brand, founded by Paolina Russo and Lucile Guilmard in 2021, specializes in knitwear and aims to lead the craft revival of tomorrow. Paolina Russo’s innovative and visionary approach to design combines artisan techniques with industrialized manufacturing, pushing the boundaries of design. The prize for winning the award is 50,000 euros, and Paolina Russo will showcase their collection at Copenhagen Fashion Week in August 2023. Zalando will extend financial support for the show production to enable Paolina Russo to bring their vision to the runway, highlighting the brand’s commitment to creating an innovative future collection.
