Charlotte Hendrickx Co-Producing “What’s Up Don Quixote” at the Brisk Festival in LA

Los Angeles is buzzing with excitement as the Brisk Festival is showcasing innovative and engaging theatre from across the world. The Festival is an international theater festival with a selection of over 50 plays this year, 31 original short plays in English and 19 in Spanish.

This year the festivities also include three free workshops, 1 master class, 1 live music concert and at the heart of this year’s festival is the LA premiere of the fresh and vibrant featured length play titled What’s Up Don Quixote, co-produced by the multi-talented Charlotte Hendrickx.

Charlotte Hendrickx, known for her past work such as the theatre revival of Tracers at the Broadwater, multi award winning short Spell That Backfired, and recently wrapped Open The Door. With her keen eye for storytelling and dynamic production skills, Charlotte has teamed up with a diverse team of artists to bring a contemporary fun twist to the classic tale of Don Quixote. This reimagining of Miguel de Cervantes’ iconic novel captivates audiences with its inventive approach and lively execution.

Among the team bringing the production to live are Ye Zhong, Gisely Ayub, Valeria Mun oz, Ryan Jensen and executive producer Rodolfo Ornelas.

Directed by the multitalented Mario Iva n Martinez, with What’s Up Don Quixote, Hendrickx and her team explore where fantasy and reality meet. The production combines theatrical narrative elements with traditional original music, creating a unique experience that both honors and reinvents the classic story.

The Brisk Festival, renowned for its celebration of new and original theatre, provides the perfect platform for What’s Up Don Quixote to shine. With its innovative take on a beloved classic, the show was one of the festival’s standout performances.

The festival runs its last week, and tickets for What’s Up Don Quixote went fast already generating talks of a possible added performance during its final week. Theatre enthusiasts and curious audiences alike were raving about the show!
