The Bashundhara Kings Football Academy officially kicked off its operations on Saturday at the Bashundhara Sports Complex in Dhaka. The non-residential training program aims to nurture young football talent and provide them with opportunities to join the professional ranks.
However, the academy’s plans extend beyond its current non-residential setup. Kings President Md Imrul Hassan has pledged to transform the academy into a fully residential facility within six months to a year, in response to the overwhelming interest it has received.
“This is just the beginning,” Hassan stated at the inaugural program. “We aim to provide these young players with the best possible training and support, and we believe that many of them will have the chance to join the Bashundhara Kings main team.”
The academy will initially focus on training three age groups: 6-11 (boys and girls), 11-15 (boys), and 15-18 (boys). Renowned coaches from the Bashundhara Kings team, including head coachValeriu Tita, will conduct training sessions three days a week at the Bashundhara Sports Complex.
Hassan also announced plans for a talent hunt program across eight divisional cities in Bangladesh. Talented footballers discovered through this program will receive free training at the academy and will eventually be offered residential facilities once the academy transitions to a residential model.
With its ambitious goals and commitment to developing young football talent, the Bashundhara Kings Football Academy is poised to make a significant impact on the future of football in Bangladesh.
