A Revolutionary Operating System and User Interface

The visionOS is a new operating system that was developed to support spatial computing. It was built using the latest engineering innovations from macOS, iOS, and iPadOS. This revolutionary system provides powerful spatial experiences for users, enabling them to explore new opportunities at home or work.

One of the most exciting features of visionOS is its three-dimensional interface, which makes digital content appear as if it is part of the user’s physical environment. This interface responds to natural light and casts shadows, giving users a better sense of scale and distance. Additionally, Apple Vision Pro has introduced a new input system that allows users to interact with spatial content using their eyes, hands, and voice. Users can browse through apps by looking at them, tapping their fingers, flicking their wrist, or dictating commands with their voice.

The Apple Vision Pro comes with an innovative feature called EyeSight that lets users stay connected with people around them. When someone wearing Vision Pro interacts with another person, the device becomes transparent, allowing the user to see the person while also displaying their eyes. Additionally, when the user is engaged in an activity or using an app, EyeSight provides visual cues to others about what they are focusing on.

Breakthrough Design

The Apple Vision Pro is a cutting-edge personal electronics device that boasts superior performance, mobility, and wearability. Its compact design is made possible by the use of advanced materials and innovative technology that has been honed through Apple’s experience in creating high-performance products such as the Mac, iPhone, and Apple Watch.

One of the most impressive features of the Apple Vision Pro is the singular piece of three-dimensionally formed and laminated glass that functions as a lens for the device’s cameras and sensors. This glass seamlessly flows into a custom aluminum alloy frame that curves around the user’s face, while a modular system ensures a comfortable and personalized fit for a wide range of people. The Light Seal is made from soft textile and comes in various shapes and sizes to ensure a precise fit. Flexible straps keep audio close to the user’s ears, while a Head Band, available in multiple sizes, provides cushioning, breathability, and stretch. The band is secured with a simple mechanism, making it easy to switch to another size or style of band.

Unrivaled Innovation in Hardware

The Apple Vision Pro is a compact wearable device that boasts impressive computing power. It uses a state-of-the-art ultra-high-resolution display system built on an Apple silicon chip, which utilizes micro-OLED technology to pack 23 million pixels into two displays the size of postage stamps. This breakthrough allows for stunning colors and high dynamic range, combined with custom catadioptric lenses that offer incredible clarity and sharpness. For users needing vision correction, ZEISS Optical Inserts are available to ensure visual accuracy and eye tracking. Overall, the Apple Vision Pro delivers an exceptional experience.

The Apple Vision Pro experience includes an advanced Spatial Audio system that makes it feel like sounds are coming from the environment around the user. This system matches the sound to the space and uses two individually amplified drivers inside each audio pod to deliver Personalized Spatial Audio based on the user’s head and ear geometry.

Apple Vision Pro is an innovative technology that includes a high-performance eye tracking system, advanced audio experiences, and a breakthrough display. The system uses high-speed cameras and a ring of LEDs to project invisible light patterns onto the user’s eyes for intuitive input.

This groundbreaking technology is powered by Apple silicon in a unique dual-chip design. The M2 chip provides unparalleled standalone performance, while the brand-new R1 chip processes input from 12 cameras, five sensors, and six microphones to ensure that content feels like it is appearing right in front of the user’s eyes in real-time. The R1 chip streams new images to the displays within 12 milliseconds, which is 8x faster than the blink of an eye. Apple Vision Pro is designed for all-day use when plugged in and up to two hours of use with its external high-performance battery.

Industry-Leading Privacy and Security

Apple Vision Pro prioritizes privacy and security, giving users full control over their data. Optic ID, a new secure authentication system, uses invisible LED light exposures to analyze a user’s iris and compare it to encrypted Optic ID data stored in the Secure Enclave. This process instantly unlocks Apple Vision Pro without the need for users to share their data with third-party apps or Apple servers. Eye tracking information remains private and is not shared with anyone, and data from the camera and sensors is processed at the system level, allowing for spatial experiences without the need for individual apps to access users’ surroundings. EyeSight even includes a visual indicator to let others know when a user is taking a spatial photo or video.
