Why Is Creative Storytelling Important in Business?

Published on July 06, 2021

Did you know that humans spend 57% of their days daydreaming? Have you ever done that? Sometimes you are driving home, and you have no idea how you even made it there. The time you spend behind the wheel, you use it to think about an ideal situation, making scenarios in your head. Funny how that works, right? Storytelling is powerful, as humans, we crave it on a daily basis and if someone does not feed us a story, we create it in our heads. Only when we are listening or watching a story, our brains stop daydreaming, but if the story is not good, we lose interest quickly and go back to our heads.

It is no accident that all successful brands are able to make us dream while keeping our brains focused on their products. Apple, for example, became successful once its CEO understood that pretty copywriting is not enough, plain marketing ads are not enough. You can place your product in front of thousands of people, but if your brand story is not strong or aligned, it won’t connect, and people won’t buy. In order to build a strong brand story that deeply connects with your potential clients and invites those people to take action, your company needs creativity, innovation, and emotion through visual communication. It needs to authentically captivate their attention and position your product as the go-to solution for their problem or needs, but how do you do that?

I interviewed a successful creative director who has been able to grow brands to the next level with her innovative campaigns. She shared her secrets with us. Are you ready to start changing your entire business and take your brand to the next level? If so, keep reading and make sure you take notes.

Sirivisa Creative is a company that focuses on more than making cool videos or pictures. Its founder, Siri Casper has a tech and marketing background. They understand successful campaigns require a combination of four main factors: human psychology, data, tech, and creativity in order to have a positive and lasting impact. Let’s take a deeper look on why these elements are essential:

  1. Human psychology – in order to be impactful, you need to unlock the psychology behind your brand. But most importantly, focus on understanding the psychology behind your potential and ideal customers. Who are they? How would your product help them? Why do they need what you offer? What are their daily struggles? Also, truly understand your personal story. There is always a personal reason why you founded your business. How does that story align and relates to your ideal customers? According to Siri, clarifying these questions can create the bridge that connects it all into a unique brand that is able to stand out no matter the industry.
  2. Follow the data – as an entrepreneur, you understand business is a data game between supply and demand. Data can tell you a lot about who, what, where, when, why and how. IT aids in better delivery opportunities and the consumption of content. Although this part can be frustrating, you cannot build a strong brand without knowing who is listening to your story, where they are, and when they are focused on what you have to say. This is key for marketing and visual content creation.
  3. Tech – For Sirivisa Creative, for example, tech goes beyond using the right tools. It’s all about building a creative digital experience at every point of the pipeline, not just the obvious top of the funnel areas like social media. In today’s society, everything moves online, and if you are not using the right technology in the correct way to grow your brand, you are slowly sinking and it is time to change that.
  4. Creativity – last, but not least is creativity. Creative and innovative campaigns are what move the world. Attention is hard to keep in saturated industries and finding a way to catch people’s attention is a form of survival. Creativity is what brands are using to create influence, without influence you don’t have a business.

“People often associate power with monetary possession, but I’ve noticed that true power comes from the ability to create influence and impact. Those are the two essential ingredients to a successful brand. Once you have that, you are able to also create the money which is a byproduct” says Siri.

We understand as a business owner, your time is limited. You are busy creating products or services that are changing people’s lives, but you also understand in order to take your brand to new heights, you need a team of creatives behind you to help bring your vision to life. Sirivisa Creative has a lot of resources that might be what you need to move the needle in your business.

Now that you understand the power of storytelling and how to create a magnetic brand story, it is time to focus on building an authentic, captivating and life-changing brand.
