E-commerce pioneer and tech giant, Amazon, for its music streaming service, Amazon Music, launched a podcast titled ‘ The First One’ with the revered producer DJ Khaled in October 2020 with the first episode being aired on 15th October. The format is interview-based and the program will be aired weekly on Thursdays. The program is developed by a collaboration between Amazon Music and the Springhill Company, LeBron James’ and Maverick Carter’s media enterprise. Earlier, in June 2020, the gifted celebrity also appeared in a commercial for Geico, an insurance company, as reported by Hip Hop Wired.

One major advantage that DJ Khaled enjoys over his contemporaries is a huge outreach on multiple social media platforms. A Senior VP for Content at Coco-Cola once called him the ‘King of Snapchat’ for his incredible sway over his audience on the platform. In 2019 he joined the much sough-after Forbes Celebrity 100 list, earning $40 million through his numerous ventures. His deals with Weight Watchers, Apple, Ciroc, T-Mobile, etc. have been quite beneficial for himself as well as the collaborating companies. With an instant rise of 9% in share price, Weight Watchers were quick to benefit from the endorsement deal as reported by Fortune. Celebrity endorsements are generally quite profitable, Crocs with Justin Bieber, where the company reportedly made $1.4 billion in sales in 2020 and recently announced a second collaboration in 2021 as reported by CNN.

Owed to his success, a Forbes article on him was titled “All He Does Is Win: 3 Marketing Lessons to Learn From DJ Khaled”, whilst his endorsements also got featured on another Forbes article. His huge social media following amounts to more than 42.9 Million, including Facebook 4.1 Million, Instagram 22.9 Million, Twitter 5.2 Million, Snapchat 3-4 Million views CNBC 2017, YouTube 10.6 Million followers, SoundCloud 159k, and Vevo.

Veteran music publication The Rolling Stone broke the news of DJ Khaled’s new venture with the cannabis industry pioneer, Endexx Corporation. Several articles including one in the London Post details how this venture holds immense potential for profits and growth and what it could mean for the stocks and the performance of Endexx. The joint venture may earn somewhere between $35.9m to $430.8m in sales revenues over the next five years.

Endexx by itself was already headed towards exponential gains with growing distribution and expanding international footprint, its place within the cannabis industry is secured based on the scientific proprietary dosage formulation and because of the expertise of the leadership. Furthermore, the cannabis industry, specifically the consumables sector is booming.
