Bobby’s Drawings is a business that draws portraits from people’s photos in the US. They are responsible for many such drawings you can see online and on Facebook in particular. Recently we became aware that they had started a GoFundme to raise money for Stand Up to Cancer and we reached out to them on Facebook messenger to let them know what a great idea it was, and Bobby’s Drawings explained the reason for starting this campaign to raise $10,000 for the charity.
We were told that they receive a lot of inquiries for their drawings from customers whose loved ones have passed away.
Bobby told us, “We all hear about and know people who have died or been sick after developing cancer, but when you see the number of customers who are making an inquiry because of a relative who has passed away, often due to cancer, it is shocking and saddening. This is why I thought it would be a good idea to use our business to raise some money for the cause”.
Bobby’s Drawings have kicked off their fundraiser by donating $150 to the charity and sharing a competition on their Facebook page (which has 76,000 likes at the time of writing) to encourage as many people as possible to donate. We wish them luck in reaching the ambitious goal of $10,000!
As time progresses, charities like Stand Up to Cancer lose some of their momentum because illnesses like cancer become accepted as a normal part of life. We think this new effort is a valiant attempt to keep this cause in the front of the publics’ mind. With enough funds and public support, charities like Stand Up to Cancer can lead to finding treatments and even cures which will bless many of us with more time to spend with the people we love.
