Rubio outlines diplomatic efforts to end Russia-Ukraine war following productive talks with Putin
In a recent interview with Fox Business Network’s Larry Kudlow, Secretary of State Marco Rubio outlined the latest developments in the ongoing discussions aimed at bringing an end to the war between Russia and Ukraine. The discussions follow a productive meeting held by Special Envoy Steve Witkoff with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
Rubio emphasized that the primary goal is to end the conflict, revealing that Witkoff’s discussions with Putin included important ideas on how to move forward. “The President wants to end the war,” Rubio stated, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to finding a solution. Following Witkoff’s meeting, President Trump convened various European leaders to update them on the talks and strategize next steps.
Rubio hinted at the potential for a significant meeting involving Trump, Putin, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, should progress continue. However, he cautioned that several challenges remain before such a meeting could be fruitful. “I think for the deal – if there’s going to be a deal to end this war, it will have to require the President to come in at the end and close on it,” he said.
Addressing questions about what “ending the war” means for Putin, Rubio pointed out that a ceasefire would be essential to facilitate negotiations toward a final peace agreement. “It’s hard to negotiate details of a final peace agreement while you’re shooting at each other,” Rubio explained. He acknowledged the complexities involved, including the need for territorial concessions from both sides—a particularly sensitive issue given the significant sacrifices made on both the Ukrainian and Russian sides.
Rubio expressed cautious optimism about the recent developments, stating, “Today was a good day, but there’s a lot of…

Secretary Bessent unveils 'America's Hard Fork': U.S. set to lead in digital finance with new regulatory framework
By Michelle Kellett / Deputy Editor, Investing and Corporate NewsIn a bold move towards positioning the United States as the epicenter of digital finance, Treasury Secretary Bessent unveiled significant advancements during the launch of the White House Digital Assets Report. The event, which took place in Washington, D.C., highlighted a stark shift in the regulatory landscape for cryptocurrencies and other digital assets, marking what Secretary Bessent termed “America’s Hard Fork.”
In his remarks, Secretary Bessent emphasized that for decades, America has been a nation of exploration and innovation. Reflecting on President Trump’s commitment to making the U.S. “the crypto capital of the world,” he outlined how the current administration has rolled back previous restrictions that hampered the fintech sector.
“The Golden Age of Crypto, the President has ushered in, stands in stark contrast to recent history,” Bessent stated, criticizing the previous administration for its stringent policies that, according to him, drove innovation offshore. He noted the creation of an “anti-crypto army” under the former leadership and recounted how the Trump administration has actively worked against these barriers.
Since taking office, President Trump has initiated several key measures to revitalize the digital asset market, including forming the Presidential Working Group on Digital Asset Markets and appointing David Sacks as the White House AI and Crypto Czar. These actions, she explained, replaced adversarial figures with pro-innovation policymakers committed to fostering growth within the sector.
The newly released report represents months of collaboration, involving…

Under Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, John K. Hurley, stated, “Iran continues to pursue the development of asymmetric weapons capabilities, including unmanned aerial vehicles, to carry out attacks on the United States, our servicemembers, and our partners and allies in the region. We will continue to put America first by disrupting Tehran’s ability to further its destabilizing agenda that undermines the stability of the region and threatens the safety of the American people.”
The designation, made under Executive Order 13382, which targets proliferators of weapons of mass destruction and their means of delivery, reflects ongoing efforts to limit Iran’s military advancements. HESA has been under sanctions since its designation in 2008…
