In a historic event, David Guetta has been named The World’s No.1 DJ as DJ Mag unveiled the results of the Top 100 DJs 2025 during a live awards ceremony at [UNVRS] in Ibiza. This marks the first time the prestigious awards show has been held on the island, making the occasion even more memorable.
Guetta’s victory comes 14 years after he first claimed the title in 2011, and it is his fifth win overall, placing him alongside fellow legends Martin Garrix and Armin van Buuren. His previous titles were secured in 2020, 2021, and 2023, showcasing his lasting influence in the electronic music scene.
Despite being over four decades into his career, the French DJ continues to push boundaries, releasing an impressive array of music—averaging a new single per month for the past year. His 2025 releases have spanned multiple genres, including collaborations with Afrojack, Martin Garrix, Sia, and even a remix for the fictional K-pop group Huntr/x.
Guetta’s live performances have also evolved, with his recent [UNVRS] residency, titled Galactic Circus, running from June to October. The residency featured extended, improvisational sets, adding a new layer to his dynamic stage presence. This year, he embarked on an international tour called The Monolith, which has been highlighted by landmark shows in AlUla, Saudi Arabia, and Paris’ Stade de France.
Speaking about his latest achievement, Guetta expressed his gratitude, stating, “To win Top 100 DJs again, for a joint-record fifth time, is an honour. The greatest feeling in my life, truly, is playing new music for people and seeing their reactions.” He emphasized his dedication to creativity, noting that he continues to make music daily out of passion.
The awards ceremony, hosted by Arielle Free, not only celebrated Guetta but also recognized other artists in the industry. Armin van Buuren received awards for The World’s No.1 Trance DJ and Outstanding Contribution, while Michael Bibi was named Highest New Entry. Additional winners included Sara Landry (The World’s No.1 Hard DJ), Jazzy (Future Star), and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike (The World’s No.1 DJ Group).
As part of the event, DJ Mag also hosted a fundraiser for Bridges for Music, a nonprofit organization that empowers underserved youth in South Africa through music and entrepreneurship. The initiative has successfully raised £149,442 to date.
