Madonna is Back Into the Groove With Upcoming Album Release Under Warner Records

The pop icon is set to launch her first LP since 2019, marking a reunion with Warner Records—the label that was her home for the initial 25 years of her career

In a highly anticipated announcement, Madonna has confirmed that she will return in 2026 with a brand new dance album, reuniting with Warner Records. This label played a crucial role in her rise to stardom. This upcoming project is expected to serve as a sequel to her iconic 2005 album, ‘Confessions on a Dancefloor’.

The Queen of Pop hinted at her return to the studio in late 2024 when she disclosed that she was collaborating once again with Stuart Price, who produced much of her original album. Earlier this year, she teased fans with the prospect of a ‘Confessions 2’ sequel, exciting her devoted following.

Nearly two decades after her departure, Madonna’s re-signing with Warner Records marks a significant homecoming. Beginning her journey at Sire Records in 1982, she spent the first 25 years of her illustrious career with the label. The new album will be her first release since ‘Madame X’ in 2019, and she has yet to share further details, including an exact release date or title.

Reflecting on her partnership with Warner, Madonna expressed her sentiments in a statement, saying, “From being a struggling artist in New York City to signing a record deal to release just three singles, it seemed at the time my world would never be the same again, and in fact, that couldn’t have been truer.” She added, “Since the beginning, Warner Records has been a real partner with me. I am happy to be reunited and look forward to the future, making music, doing the unexpected while perhaps provoking a few needed conversations.”

Madonna’s previous contract with Warner concluded after the release of 2008’s ‘Hard Candy’. Following that, she entered a 360 deal with Live Nation, which included a three-album agreement with Interscope Records, a subsidiary of Universal Music Group. Interscope released her recent albums, including ‘MDNA’, ‘Rebel Heart’, and ‘Madame X’.

Additionally, in 2020, Madonna parted ways with Interscope, setting the stage for her return to Warner. Her new deal will allow her entire catalog to exist under one roof, with plans to bring her Interscope albums back to Warner in 2025.

Warner Records co-chairmen Tom Corson and Aaron Bay-Schuck expressed their excitement about Madonna’s return, stating, “Madonna isn’t just an artist — she’s the blueprint, the rule breaker, the ultimate cultural juggernaut. For decades, she has not only defined the sound of global pop music but also reshaped culture itself with her vision, innovation, and fearless artistry. This signing represents a historic, full-circle moment, one that brings her back to the label where it all began and reaffirms her unparalleled influence, setting the stage for an exciting new era of creativity and impact.”

As fans eagerly await further news about the new album, one thing is clear: Madonna is ready to get back into the groove and make her mark once again on the music world.
