As the use of mobile apps continues to grow over desktops worldwide, concerns about privacy and data security on smartphones are also increasing. That’s why Chenglin Liu, a UC Berkeley graduate, built an app to trace IP addresses while protecting user data and privacy.
The app, called “TrackthatIP”, allows users to track the IP addresses of websites they visit and devices that connect to their network, giving them greater insight into their networking activity. However, unlike other tracking tools, this app incorporates advanced encryption algorithms and spoofing tech to protect user data and ensure their online activity remains secure.
The app has gained widespread attention within the tech community, and more than 600,000 people have downloaded it since its launch. Many professionals have reached out to Liu, telling him about their positive experiences from using it.
“TrackthatIP is a great example of how mobile technology can be harnessed to address some of the most pressing privacy and security concerns of our time,” said James Wong, a senior engineer at a leading IT security firm. “It significantly enhances user privacy without regressing performance or reliability.”
Users on the App Store have given the app glowing reviews, with many praising its user-friendly interface and powerful features. One user wrote, “This app is a game-changer. I love it’s easy to use, and the privacy & vpn features give me peace of mind.” Another user commented, “I’ve tried many IP tracking apps, but this is the best one by far. The accuracy is unmatched.”
Liu’s work has also been recognized with awards and accolades, including the Best Mobile App Award. He has been invited to several international conferences to share and discuss the potential impact of his work.
“Privacy is a fundamental right that must be protected in the digital age,” said Liu. “With this app, I hope it provides everyone with a privacy tool that’s accessible and easy to use.”
