After turning heads with high-octane bass house heater “Desperado,” dubstep don Zomboy reveals the first EP to grace his newly launched label. Landing July 22nd on the UK legend’s Rott N’ Roll imprint, “Dead Man Walking Pt. 1” encompasses recently-released fan favorites “Desperado” and “Flatlined” feat. Micah Martin, in addition to two new decimating dubstep anthems.
Known for his riotous synth beds and obliterating growls, Zomboy has left quite the imprint on the bass scene. Since emerging from the crypt with Rott N’ Roll, Zomboy has only further solidified his throne atop the dubstep community whilst exploring the unfamiliar sonic territory. Dead Man Walking switches from a buoyant splash of bass house in “Desperado” and abrasive bass waves in “Flatlined,” to a heavily syncopated kick/snare combo in title track “Dead Man Walking” and cyborg soundscapes in “Last Man Standing.” Featuring the iconic work of Micah Martin and MUST DIE!, this first installment in the Dead Man Walking EP series makes for one hell of a ride.
“‘Dead Man Walking Pt.1’ has so many levels of meaning to me. While it may be short, I feel the attention to detail is some of my best to date. It also marks the first major release of my very own label ‘Rott N’ Roll Records.’
“Nothing helps me write music more than creating a big theoretical concept to work towards. In my head there is a deep underlying truth in this record, but for the sake of explanation… ‘Dead Man Walking Pt.1’ is the story of a man returning to a civilization he had once abandoned after helping them defeat a common enemy (Rott N’ Roll Pt. 1 & 2).
“If that goes over your head I don’t blame you, the stories are for me, the music is for you.
“Thank you all for your undead support, and I can’t wait to share this future with you all.” – said Zomboy.
Making his debut as Zomboy in 2011 with the track “Organ Donor,” the UK producer’s 10-year career now faces a new frontier. Moving on from Never Say Die Records, to starting his own label Rott N’ Roll Records, Zomboy stands in an exciting phase for both himself and his fans. Slowly building the label’s momentum with “Desperado” and “Flatlined,” Zomboy’s 2022 has grasped the public’s attention with an iron grip. Starting from a small town in Penzance, UK to now sharing his music with the global scene, Zomboy’s music and his upcoming movements with Rott N’ Roll Records will continue to raise the expectations of his fans.
