Someone rightly said, “Happiness isn’t always in living life king size. Happiness is also in helping others live life healthily and whole-heartedly.” The world witnessed some incredible instances of humanity recently as the deadly coronavirus continues to reign over our lives. One individual who strived to become indispensable support during this global crisis is the founder and CEO of Sunrise Group of Companies (SGoC), Mr. Mohammed Naeem.
Mr. Naeem is a highly successful entrepreneur who has founded and chaired several prominent organizations like Sunrise Second Chance Foundation, Sunrise Clinical Services, Sunrise Clinical Lab etc. During the COVID-19 pandemic, SGOC introduced advanced resources and technology for the qualitative detection of the disease under the leadership of its adroit founder.
As we spoke to Mr. Naeem regarding his career, companies and initiatives, here’s what he unleashed, only to inspire us more.
What made you establish the Sunrise Group of Companies?
Initially, Sunrise Care LLC was established from a strong desire to improve healthcare facilities for people. I was extremely disappointed with the poor quality of treatment and care that people with substance use disorders received previously. Along with the right attitude and approach towards patients, having appropriate resources to support the treatment and alleviate the stigma is quite crucial.
The idea of SGOC came from this earnest desire to improve this condition. Today, the organization dedicatedly serves people with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Sunrise has also included smaller companies seeking support within its umbrella.
How do you measure your success?
I believe success cannot be measured as it’s your happiness of improving lives that brings real victory. However, if you talk about numbers, we have gone from serving 50 people to more than 2000 patients across various places. Our employee strength is also 3000+. What helped Sunrise mend lives so enthusiastically is our unique individualized approach. We understand that every person seeking our services comes with a specific need to be addressed differently. That’s where treatment becomes successful.
As an entrepreneur, where do you see SGOC?
Well, Sunrise Group of Companies has been providing comprehensive treatment services and preventative education for almost a decade now. Its portfolio now comprises Sunrise Clinical Services, Sunrise Diagnostic Lab, Sunrise Care, Subset Homes, Sunrise Second Chance Foundation, Sunrise Clinical Lab. Hence, we are growing eventually.
The Sunrise Diagnostic Lab ranks as New Jersey’s 4th largest reference laboratory. Presently, our team is working tirelessly to launch Genomics Testing, both Cancer Genomics (CGx) and Pharmacogenomics (PGx) along with a customized Opioid Panel. Offering the most extensive in-house test panels among other diagnostic centers, we provide FISH and liquid biopsy, blood and urine samples for pathology, women’s health (utilizing single swab), toxicology and more testing services.
Again, Sunrise Second Chance Foundation is another major venture which addresses the epidemic issue of substance abuse, alcohol and drugs among teenagers, kids and families. We believe awareness and education can lead to the prevention and proper treatment of opium dependency.
What measures have Sunrise undertaken during the pandemic?
Sunrise’s highly trained and experienced staff stood strong at the frontlines to fight the coronavirus disease. We conducted extensive testing drives at educational institutions, government offices, synagogues and other places for early detection and breaking the chain. Sunrise Diagnostic Lab offers technologies like ViroKeyTM SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR Test, Specimen Collection System – UTMTM. Moreover, it offers advanced RT-PCR which offers precise results. It calculates reactions and evaluates gene expression with more accuracy.
In 2021, we shall be completing 360-degree patient care in substance abuse disorder by adding In-Patient Detox and Ambulatory Detox Centers.
Since the beginning of these ventures, I have envisioned improving not only healthcare facilities but also lives. Therefore, I always encourage people to participate in active listening, reading books & journals, attend workshops and look for growth opportunities.
