German-born and based multi-hyphenate David Herrlich takes to deadmau5’s house imprint to debut “Touch.” Available worldwide on hau5trap, “Touch” is the latest addition to the fresh-faced house music label.

A sweeping dancefloor anthem, “Touch” sonically fuses oscillating basslines with techy grooves to create a whirring impact. Swathed in dance-ready swagger, David Herrlich masterfully combines intricate synth performance with sweltering vocals. Bouncy four-on-the-floor melodies ensure Herrlich’s newest to be left on loop.

Inspired to create music from a young age, David Herrlich’s love of sound was born from trips to raves with his father as a toddler. Through each release, Herrlich’s profound love and respect of a multitude of genres shine through. Drawing heavy inspiration from classic house, techno, and old school rave, each and every David Herrlich release combines elements of nostalgia with newfound production techniques.

“I made ‘Touch’ during the first big lockdown last year. As there were no clubs or similar to go for months, I wanted to create a record that makes fun to hear no matter where you are. With its catchy elements and strong OG character, I wanted to ensure people will hit the loop button!” – David Herrlich.

David Herrlich brings a specific type of heat to the dance floor. To describe his style of music you definitely need more than just a genre, but it’s something between heavy driving Tech House, pumpy Techno, and a pinch of Old School Rave.

His passion for dance music started pretty early in the days when his father took him already as a toddler to raves back in the 90s. Enjoying his dad’s mixtapes and the early access to a computer made him began his musical journey as a kid. The most important point in his musical career had been the COVID-19 pandemic. In this time he decided to take his passion one step further and quickly caught traction from the likes of Chris Lake, Marco Faraone, Chris Lorenzo, and Matroda, to name a few.

During the several lockdowns, David proved his tight production skills in several remix and producer competitions, such like the ‘Juicy Lips’ remix competition by Piem & Richard Ulh hosted by Cr2 Records and being chosen as one of the finalists of the ‘Global Producer Challenge’ by Beatport. With his definite special signature sound, there is no way to admit that the future will bring big things for David Herrlich.
