5 Life-Changing Business Lessons From Self-Made Entrepreneur Karan Exclusive

Published on February 01, 2021

Karan Exclusive isn’t your typical artist or entrepreneur. He landed a top music manager without ever releasing a song. He built a marketing agency that disrupted the digital marketing space and helped many Instagram stars and music celebrities on his way to the top.

He was only in his first semester in University when he decided to build a marketing agency that would later revolutionize the digital space.

At the age of 33, Karan Exclusive has seen more failures and more success than most people in a lifetime, and although admittedly, at times, he felt lost, he said he learned more by taking action than by playing safe.

From Failure to Success

How does someone make a journey from failure to success?

Many people grow up believing that working hard and saving money eventually leads to financial security.

Others believe going to college and getting a degree is the safest way to secure a career, but does that lead to financial freedom?

After seeing hundreds of case studies, Karan Exclusive realized reaching his goals with a 9 to 5 would be extremely unlikely, and the system wasn’t built for regular people to achieve “financial freedom.”

He notes, countless college and university graduates are either unemployed or underpaid. Going to school for 4 years to walk out with 6 figures in college debt and a 9 to 5 in an unstable economy and then working until retirement didn’t sound like a happy life.

There had to be a better way to go about life.

During his first semester in university, Karan decided to learn SEO and build a marketing agency focusing on B2B. It took him nearly 9 months while studying full time in university and studying another 8 hours a day to learn SEO and everything related to search engines, social media marketing, and paid ads.

The journey was long and complicated. Karan has been building businesses since he was 12 years old, but it wasn’t until 26 that he learned what he calls the “keys to success.”

After failing to build a successful business countless times, Karan Exclusive never stopped learning and connecting the dots. He knew there were more than enough examples of entrepreneurs and businesses who always seemed to be successful- regardless of the economy or the amount they invested in getting started.

Instead of giving up and following his friends and classmates, he decided to dissect every aspect of his business – both failures and success, and analyze successful businesses and entrepreneurs to find the missing key.

5 Lessons That Can Change Your Life

Karan shares that every mistake, every failure, and every obstacle gave him the adversity and opportunities that paved the way for his success when he looks back. In fact, learning from failure is the best way to turn any “losing” situation into a profitable experience.

Success is the outcome of what he likes to call “Positive Compound,” which is when all your positive actions compound and lead to a revolution in your business.

Lesson 1 – Learn Why

Learning why you failed or succeeded plays a major role in business. If you “win” and never ask questions, you’ll probably not have the answers to future problems that otherwise would have been simple.

Too often, people get stuck following trends or going from one idea to the next. Instead of trying everything and hoping to get lucky, create your own luck.

Figure out how to write a good email, learn how to set up a landing page, make sure you follow up with clients, focus on delivering value to your market, learn how to make Facebook ads, improve and optimize whenever you can – over time these skills pay out big time. And the best part, they can be applied to virtually any business you want to. In short, learn skills that over time will help you sell a product or a service.

Lesson 2 – Make a Schedule

Not a lot of people enjoy schedules, but schedules don’t have to be a bad thing. If you want to get paid, you need a schedule.

There are so many things to learn, to do, and people to contact when building a business – that it can become overwhelming—separate different time blocks for different activities. A few days a week, you may call clients and answer emails in the morning, study one part of your business and build campaigns in the afternoon, and at night something else.

You can be flexible with your schedule, but make it work for you. Nobody has the same routine, but it is crucial to allocate the right time for the right activities. A schedule will help you stay focused and moving forward consistently.

Lesson 3 – Be Innovative

The world is ever-changing and perhaps now more than ever. Learning the basic skills to sell a product or a service leaves you with a lot of room for creativity.

Many markets feel saturated, and if that’s the situation you find yourself in – go about it differently, be creative. Nowadays, relationships can go a long way, don’t be afraid to reach out for mentors.

Lesson 4 – Meditation & Healthy Diet

The world is busy, and at times hard to handle. Events are happening faster and faster, and the pandemic didn’t make things easier.

If you want to succeed, you’ll have to find a way to calm all the noise down – so you can focus and make the right decisions. Everything starts with you; after all, you’re the one building a business.

Meditation and a healthy diet for me are the keys to keeping a positive mindset, staying creative, and energized to give my best in everything I do.

Lesson 5 – Take Chances

Without action, there will be no reaction. It’s that simple. We need to take action, but in truth, we need to take chances. Nothing is guaranteed, except failure – if you don’t try.

Sometimes a good opportunity isn’t too good to be true, but it may be time-sensitive.

Don’t be afraid to be wrong, be afraid of being passive.

The more you learn, the easier it becomes to take chances. If you’re always learning from your mistakes, you minimize mistakes over time, and taking chances becomes part of your daily routine.
