The Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association has congratulated Todd Blanche on his confirmation by the United States Senate as the 98th Attorney General of the United States.
Attorney General Blanche brings extensive prosecutorial and executive leadership experience to the Department of Justice. He has served as Deputy Attorney General and later as Acting Attorney General since April 2026, providing leadership across the department and its law enforcement components, including the FBI, Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Marshals Service, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Federal Bureau of Prisons, and the nation’s 93 U.S. Attorney’s Offices.
“On behalf of FLEOA and the more than 34,000 federal law enforcement officers we represent, I congratulate Attorney General Blanche on his confirmation,” said FLEOA National President Mat Silverman. “Attorney General Blanche understands the extraordinary responsibilities carried by the men and women of federal law enforcement and the importance of ensuring they have the resources, protections, and support necessary to accomplish their missions. We look forward to continuing our strong working relationship with him and the Department of Justice.”
FLEOA has collaborated with Blanche on issues affecting federal officers, including officer safety and wellness, recruitment and retention, pay and benefits, retirement protections, and other legislative and policy priorities.
Blanche began his legal career as a prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, where he handled and supervised complex investigations involving violent crime, public corruption and racketeering. His background as both a federal prosecutor and senior Justice Department leader gives him direct insight into the challenges facing federal law enforcement personnel.
