Special Two-Night Event on October 19 & 23 Showcases the Film Marking Springsteen's Directorial Debut and Featuring His Performance of the 'Western Stars' Album in its Entirety - Backed by a 30-Piece Orchestra

On the heels of the successful world premiere of Bruce Springsteen’s “Western Stars” at the Toronto International Film Festival, Fathom Events announces that it will bring music legend Bruce Springsteen to cinemas across America in an exclusive two-night theatrical release of “Western Stars.” The Fathom screenings, which will be held on October 19 and 23, will also feature an exclusive look behind the scenes with Springsteen, including never-before-seen archival footage and previously unreleased music from the Springsteen vault.

“Western Stars,” the cinematic film version of his latest globally successful album, was directed by Thom Zimny, his longtime collaborator, and Springsteen, marking his directorial debut. Following the Fathom events, “Western Stars” is slated for release on October 25, 2019.

Tickets for “Western Stars” are available at FathomEvents.com and participating in theater box offices.

From Fathom Events and Warner Bros., this special two-day event will premiere in cinemas nationwide on Saturday, October 19 at 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday, October 23 at 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. (all local times). “Western Stars” offers Springsteen fans across the country a unique opportunity to see him perform all 13 songs from the critically lauded album—his first studio album in five years. Touching on themes of love and loss, loneliness and family and the inexorable passage of time, the documentary film evokes the American West—both the mythic and the hardscrabble—weaving archival footage and Springsteen’s personal narration with a song to tell the story of Western Stars.

The Broadway-bound production of Cagney, based on the life of Academy Award® winner James Cagney, launches the award-winning Pioneer Theatre Company‘s (PTC) 58th season, running September 20 through October 5. Cagney played an award-winning off-Broadway run, presented first at the York Theatre, followed by a successful transfer to the Westside Theatre, and limited engagement in Los Angeles. The Broadway production of Cagney will be produced by Riki Kane Larimer (Enter Laughing, Smokey Joe’s Café, Gigi, On the Town) and Kate Edelman Johnson (Wyatt Earp: Return to Tombstone).

Cirque du Soleil continues its partnership with Fathom Events to bring the internationally acclaimed Cirque du Soleil show LUZIA to cinemas across the country on October 29, following a successful nationwide in-cinema broadcast of Cirque du Soleil’s KURIOS – Cabinet of Curiosities last year. Cinema audiences of all ages will enjoy a front-row seat to the larger-than-life show, with never-before-seen angles that can only be experienced on the big screen. This will be a day-long remembered at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as the park took its first step into a larger world with the grand opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Bob Chapek, chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, was flanked by the mighty Chewbacca and other Star Wars characters Wednesday morning as fireworks exploded overhead during the land’s dedication ceremony. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge officially opens to the public Thursday, Aug. 29, 2019.
